This Privacy Policy (this “Policy”) governs the manner in which PawsLikeMe Inc. (“PawsLikeMe,” or “we” or “us” or “our”) collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a "User" and collectively, “Users”) of the www.PawsLikeMe.com website ("Site"). This Policy applies to the Site and all products and services offered by PawsLikeMe. By using the Site, Users consent to this Policy.
References to “Users” includes Organizations, Guardians, Adopters and any other user visiting the Site. Only Users located in the United States of America and Canada are currently able to provide Information (other than email addresses).
We may collect personally identifiable information (“Information”) from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit the Site, register on the Site, fill out a form, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on the Site. Users may be asked to provide their name, email address, mailing address, phone number and other information that we feel to be necessary in connection with the placement of pets with Adopters.
Users acknowledge that they provide all Information on a voluntary basis and that they are not required to provide any Information at all. To the extent that Organizations and Guardians do not provide certain Information, they acknowledge that they may not be permitted to list animals for adoption on the Site or use other features of the Site. To the extent that Adopters do not provide certain Information, they acknowledge that they may not be permitted to adopt animals using the Site or use other features of the Site.
Users may also visit the Site anonymously. When Users visit the Site anonymously, we may still collect certain non-personally identifiable information, as provided in this Policy.
The Site may use "cookies" to enhance User experience. User's web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. Users may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If they do so, note that some parts of the Site may not function properly.
Users may also encounter cookies from third parties that we have allowed on our Site to assist us with various aspects of our web site operations and services. PawsLikeMe maintains no control over these third party cookies that you may encounter.
We may collect non-personally identifiable information about Users whenever they interact with our Site. Non-personally identifiable information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about the User’s means of connection to the Site, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers utilized and other similar information.
Web Beacons
We may use electronic images known as web beacons - sometimes called single-pixel gifs - that assist in delivering cookies on the Site and allow us to count users who have visited those pages and to deliver services. We may include web beacons in promotional email messages or our newsletters in order to determine whether messages have been opened and acted upon. We may also employ web beacons from third parties in order to help us compile aggregated statistics and determine the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns.
Log Files
We may also log standard information about your visit, including your IP address, browser type and language, access times, referring website addresses, the pages you view, the links you click and other actions taken in connection with the Site for the purposes of systems administration or to report information in aggregate form to our advertisers, sponsors, and corporate partners.

PawsLikeMe has enabled Google Analytics Advertising Features for this Site. Specifically, we have enabled the following Google Analytics features: Universal Google Analytics and Google Analytics Advertising Features.
Visitors to this Site can opt-out of the Google Analytics Advertising Features, including through Ads Settings, Ad Settings for mobile apps, or any other available means (for example, the NAI's consumer opt-out).
Guardians and Organizations should note that all pet profiles on the Site are linked to various popular social media sights, which may include Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and other sites. Users are freely able to share pet profiles via such social media sites.
In addition to any other uses described in this Policy, we use Information, cookies, web beacons, and log file information to: (a) remember information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your visit or the next time you visit the Site; (b) provide a customized look and feel and personalized content and information; (c) monitor the effectiveness of our service; (d) monitor aggregate metrics such as total number of visitors and traffic patterns, demographics, users' preferences, and other information in the aggregate; (e) diagnose or fix technology problems reported by our Users or engineers that are associated with the IP addresses controlled by a specific web company or Internet service provider; and (f) help you efficiently access your information after you sign in.
We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on our Site.
Except as provided in this Policy, or as you may otherwise consent, we do not sell, trade, or rent Information to third parties. By listing animals for adoption via the Site, Organizations and Guardians consent to the sharing of their Information with interested Adopters. By submitting an application for adoption, Adopters consent to the sharing of their Information with the Organization or Guardian having custody over the animal that the Adopter wishes to adopt. We may also share aggregated, non-personally identifiable information, compiled from the Site with our business partners, trusted affiliates and advertisers for any reason.
We will disclose your Information when we believe in good faith that any applicable law, regulation or legal process requires it, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect or enforce our rights.
Our services are available to individuals at least 18 years of age or legal age in the User’s state of residence (whichever is greater)and the Site should not be used by individuals under the age of 18 or legal age in the User’s state of residence. We do not knowingly collect personal information via our websites, applications, services, or tools from users under the age of 18 or legal age in the User’s state of residence.
Users may find advertising or other content on our Site that link to the sites and services of our partners, suppliers, advertisers, sponsors, licensors and other third parties. We do not control the content or links that appear on these sites and are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our Site. In addition, these sites or services, including their content and links, may be constantly changing. These sites and services may have their own privacy policies and customer service policies. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link to our Site, is subject to that website's own terms and policies.
Users should note that payments processed by the Site will be processed by our third party payment processors, Stripe and PayPal. Information submitted to those sites, in particular, will be subject to the terms and conditions and privacy policies of those sites, respectively.
It is a violation of our Terms of Use to use our services in a manner that could subject PawsLikeMe to jurisdiction or laws in any territory outside the United States. Nevertheless, if you use our services outside of the United States, you fully understand and unambiguously consent to the transfer of your Information to, and the collection and processing of such personal information in the United States and other countries or territories. The laws on holding Information in the United States may vary and be less stringent than laws of your state or country.
This Policy, which is an agreement between you and PawsLikeMe, is governed by the laws of the State of Florida without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute or legal proceeding relating to or arising from this Policy or your use of our services and/or the Site will be adjudicated solely by a court of competent jurisdiction sitting in Orange County, Florida, and you and we expressly consent to the exclusive personal jurisdiction of such courts. PawsLikeMe and Users waive any right to a jury trial in connection with any litigation in connection with this Site or this Agreement or otherwise involving PawsLikeMe.
Beginning on January 1, 2005, California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits our Users who are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, please send an email to coleen.johnston@pawslikeme.com so that we may review whether your request is subject to applicable California law.
We have the discretion to update this Policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this Policy periodically and become aware of modifications.
You should be aware that if you voluntarily disclose personal information online in a public area, this information may be collected and used by others. We do not control the actions of our Users. If you disclose personal information in a publicly accessible place in the Site, you do so at your own risk and you understand that your disclosed information may be collected and used by others to send you unsolicited messages, advertisements, or for other purposes. If you remove personal information from the Site, copies may remain viewable in cached and archived pages for a certain period of time and other users may have copied or stored your personal information.
Please remember that you are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of any password you use to register on the Site and you should always be careful and responsible whenever disclosing information online. Also, PawsLikeMe may store Information in locations outside the direct control of PawsLikeMe (for instance, on servers or databases co-located with hosting providers). Although PawsLikeMe uses reasonable efforts to safeguard the privacy of your Information, transmissions made by means of the Internet cannot be made absolutely secure and are made at your own risk. PawsLikeMe expressly disclaims any warranty that your Information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards. PawsLikeMe assumes no liability for disclosure of data due to errors in transmission or unauthorized breach of our safeguards by third parties.
